Night Working

There are certain regulations that apply to employees who work at night. These apply to all employees be they permanent members of staff or casual workers.

The regulations define night time as the period between 23.00 and 06.00 although this agreement can be slightly varied between employers and workers. A 'night worker' is classed as someone who works for at least 3 hours during this period.

Generally, night workers:

* Should not work more than 8 hours in any 24 hour period, averaged over 17 weeks
* Cannot opt-out of from this limit unless it is allowed for by a collective workforce agreement, although in some cases you can average night work over a 26 week period
* Must be offered a free health assessment before they begin night work duties and on a regular basis after that

For some workers - those working with hazards or under mental or physical strain - there can be no averaging at all - the 8 hour limit must be strictly adhered to.

In general, workers under 18 are not permitted to work nights, although there are quite a number of exceptions to this rule and you can find out more from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

It is an employer's duty to comply with the night work regulations. They should keep records to ensure workers do not exceed their night working limit along with records of their employees' health assessments for 2 years or, if they didn't take up that offer, you should record the date the offer was made.

Super Filipino Efren Reyes

Efren "Bata" Reyes

One of world's famous pool player whom I really admire the most is this noble and notable man known in the International World as Efren "The Magician" Reyes. Here in the Philippines, he was nicknamed Efren "Bata" Reyes. He is called "Bata", which is Filipino for "Kid" since there was another pool player with the name of Efren.

Reyes was born in Pampanga in 1954 and moved to Manila with his family, at the age of 5. In Manila, he worked as a billiards attendant at his uncle's billiards hall, where he started learning the various cue sports.

At a young age, he played for money, and in the sixties and seventies, played carambola billiards (also known as three cushion billiards). After establishing himself as a winner, he was discovered by promoters. This gave him the opportunity to compete in big time tournaments.

The fame of Efren Reyes began when he won the US Open Nine Ball Championship in 1994 by defeating Nick Varner in the finals. He was the first non-American ever to win the event.

Becoming a man of great prestige did not make him boastful of his achievements. I like his down to earth and humbleness. Maybe this is the reason why he was always blessed.

Rurouni Kenshin - Kenshin Himura

Another passion of mine is watching Samurai X Warrior. Among the many anime characters I've watched on the television, the only character that has caught my attention is the Japanese character of Rorouni Kenshin. Because of the depth of the story and the plots, it's not impossible how this character seemed to amazed many people.

A Tribute to One of My Favorite Artists

I am a fanatic of Colbie Caillat's song, most especially when I heard her song "Bubbly", I am so thrilled that I kept on watching her videos while listening to her voice. Maybe I am just like any one of you who loves to feel the flow(lyrics) of an artist's masterpieces. This is kinda weird since I am not really a great fan of any singers, but since I have seen and watched her videos I felt the song. I hope and wish one of this days I could see and watch her perform LIVE here in the Philippines. Go Co Co!...here's a copy of Bubbly's Lyrics (hope you'd find this interesting too:D)

Colbie Caillat - Bubbly lyrics

cause every time I see your bubbly face
I get the tinglies in a silly place

where ever it goes I always know
that you make me smile
please stay for a while now
just take your time
where ever you go

V2: The rain is fallin on my window pane
but we are hidin in a safer place
under covers stayin safe (*) and warm
you give me feelins that I adore

C: It starts in my toes
make me crinkle my nose
where ever it goes
i always know
that you make me smile
please stay for a while now
just take your time
where ever you go

B: What am I gonna say
when you make me feel this way
I just........mmmmmm

C: It starts in my toes
make me crinkle my nose
where ever it goes
i always know

please stay for a while now
just take your time
where ever you go

V3: I've been asleep for a while now
You tucked me in just like a child now
Cause every time you hold me in your arms
I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth

C: It starts in my soul
And I lose all control
When you kiss my nose
The feelin shows
Cause you make me smile
Baby just take your time now
Holdin me tight

Where ever, where ever, where ever you go
Where ever, where ever, where ever you go
Where ever you go, I'll always know
Cause you make me smile here, just for a while

On How I Read...

I am a person that will always be appreciative ofp all the good reading materials that will always inspire me to go on reading. I always feel the need to read something. Somehow for me I feel that I am at my prime best whenever I am reading. I am not choosy of what kind of materials to read, as long as I love the story , the content is good and not obstructive in general. I am always eager to finish-up what I am reading. Once I start reading, I tend to place myself on that situation or place, whatever goes with the story. One thing that makes me relax is also reading, for this I want to place this subject as one of my first article on this blog.

I am a fan of many authors of different types of books or any reading materials, even that of the Holy Scripture. I can say that it is difficult for someone who always write to finished a news or a piece of story that would be useful and can be beneficial to both readers and himself. I believe that writing is a skill, once nurtured and used 'properly' is something one can be proud of. Unless properly used, writing and reading abilities can become a wastrel of effort and time.

People nowadays are prone to reading such works that promotes explicit, violent and unabridged stories on any reading materials that can be detrimental to one's health and life. These types of reading materials are very influential to a child's vulnerability, as these gives them the feeling of 'curiousness' imbibed with eagerness to know these things. These materials connotes 'violence', 'child-abuse', and could trigger 'death' etc. And I believe that if the person is conscious enough, he/she wouldn't author such subject.

I place my trust and confidence among these important persons who makes this miracle of knowledge meaningful. Persons that in a way would show delicacy on their masterpieces. I applaud them on their ingenuity and nature of work.
